Q: What makes Argan Oil so unique?

Argan oil is only found in southwestern Morocco. Numerous attempts have been made to grow it in other parts of the world with no success. Moroccan Argan oil has numerous skin, hair, nail, and therapeutic benefits. Raw Argan oil is particularly indicated as being effective against aging and cell degeneration, as well as dryness, skin inflammation, acne and scars. It is very effective in the treatment and reduction of wrinkles. It takes just a short period of time to get the skin looking satiny and radiant, giving it that youthful and healthy look.

Moroccan Argan oil also penetrates the skin quickly, so a few minutes after application your skin is left silky without being oily.

Some characteristics of Argan Oil. Our Moroccan Argan oil is very rich in:

  • Vitamin F (omega 6): anti- aging and anti-dryness of skin
  • Vitamin E: A powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory for sensitive skin, UV protection, and aids in cutaneous micro-circulation. Also neutralizes free radicals.
  • Phenols: antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, powerful against fungus and bacteria, activates blood circulation and activates Vitamin C.
  • Triterpens: restructure cells, is anti-inflammatory and slows down cell aging.
  • Squalene: suggested to prevent against skin cancer.

Q: What makes Eden’s Moroccan Argan Oil products so special?

All our Argan oil is Fairly-Traded, so the women benefit directly from the proceeds of the sales. For years, the men of the households in these communities would take the Argan oil that these women produced, and sell them at local marketplaces hence reaping all the profits. We are trying to put a stop to this unfair treatment by giving these women a bigger stake in the business side of the Argan oil production.

We also will contribute a portion of our proceeds to Global Fund for Women; a charity whose great work has made the difference in a lot of women’s lives, and whose work we believe strongly in. Our pure Argan Oil is quality approved by our FDA regulated manufacturing facility, and goes through a steamed process (not a chemical process) to deodorize it.

Q: I found some really inexpensive Argan oil, is it the real deal?

If you were purchasing it in bulk directly from the women’s co-op I would say yes, otherwise the answer is no. Moroccan Argan oil goes by European standards for certification in authenticity. Also check to see if it is deodorized.

Q: Why do you deodorize your Argan oil?

Many people find the natural “nutty” odor of Argan oil unappealing, and too overbearing for skin care use. We deodorize our Argan oil for our customers’ satisfaction.

Q: What are the therapeutic uses for Argan Oil?

That is actually the first thing that brought Moroccan Argan oil to my attention. My mother had been using Argan Oil for years on her face, body, hairs, and nails without me knowing the reason for her youthful, radiant appearance. My sister had been using medications prescribed to her by doctors for her eczema for about a year, with only temporary relief being provided for her skin disorder. My mother who had been using Argan Oil for cosmetic purposes had heard of its therapeutic application in the treatment of arthritis, rheumatism, acne, burned skin, surgical scars, stress marks, psoriasis and eczema as well. My sister began using it and in less than a week she started seeing dramatic results. Argan Oil contains anti-inflammatory agents, polyunsaturated fats, and high levels of vitamin E; this may be the reason it is so effective in the treatment of skin disorders such as eczema and psoriasis.

Q: How is cosmetic Argan Oil different from culinary Argan Oil?

Cosmetic Argan Oil goes through a cold-pressed technique whereas culinary Argan Oil goes through a heat-pressed technique. The Argan fruits are removed with a machine, and the left over nuts are manually crushed between two stones by the women to get an intact almond. These almonds are then slightly roasted for exclusive culinary use.

Cold-pressed means that the oil was not heated over a certain temperature (usually 80 degrees Fahrenheit) during processing, thus retaining more nutrients and undergoing less degradation.

Q: If I have oily skin can I still use Eden Allure 100% Pure Moroccan Argan Oil?

Absolutely. Our Moroccan Argan oil and other products are great for balancing out your skin and work miracles on all skin types. Argan oil possesses a sebum regulating action for oily skin. If your skin is extra oily apply our products only at nighttime.

Q: Where is the papaya exfoliating face masque? When will it be back?

We are currently working on making the papaya face masque's ingredients more organic. We will be re-introducing the new Argan Oil / Papaya Exfoliating Masque in August 2010.
